There’s a heated war of political philosophy going on in our country right now, and a natural outgrowth of the battle is an uptick in heated political rhetoric. I’m not excusing outrageous comments made by either side, I’m just a little tired of us continuing to cry about a comment some labor goon made days later. And if you didn’t berate Breitbart for telling unionistas to “go to hell,” don’t berate Maxine Waters for saying the same thing.
Hoffa’s comments:
“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Hoffa said.
“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march…. Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he added.
Kudos to Palin for mentioning the comments briefly and then taking apart the real heart of the issue and not going on crying about the red meat for paragraphs.
Some labor goon calling me (or a TP elected official) an SOB and saying I need to be taken out is the last thing on earth that would ruin my day. On the contrary, I love it. It should be taken as a compliment. Tea Party America is a threat to their corrupt agenda. Wear it proudly. I do. I feel like making a t-shirt about it.
Just one little thing, Hoffa. Most TP moms and dads and young people work as mechanics and bus drivers and waitresses. They farm and work in factories and slave away for every dime. They’re the so-called “rednecks” your liberal buddies look down on and trash all the time.
Many belong to unions themselves. Some because there’s still a whisper left of what the union should be, most because they have no choice – your lot forces them to do so. You certainly do not corner the market on “working people.” Come to a Tea Party rally some time. See what working America looks like. And working America is going to break down those gates.
Oh, and don’t come crying to me about “civility” anymore either. Grow up.
